Leader of the Opposition

Blue Youth members and supporters, along with Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Conservative Party of Canada, and Canadians; would like to extend our condolences to NDP Leader Jack Layton. This week Mr. Layton announced that cancer has reappeared and he will temporarily step aside to regain his health. A new interim leader will be chosen this Thursday with Jack Layton in attendance via video conferencing. Jack Layton suggested that MP Nycole Turmel be the interim leader. We all hope Mr. Layton returns to the House on September 19 when the new session begins.

Canada Day

This week the most important issue is Canada Day. All celebrate and enjoy being in the best country in the world. A country of hope, opportunity, equality, and success. A country where all are equal in law and all are treated as neighbours and friends. A country which system of governance, health care, education, and infrastructure are some of the best in the world. A country where we all can be proud to be Canadian.
